An automatic fire alarm system is designed to detect the unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes associated with combustion. In general, a fire alarm system is either classified as automatic, manually activated, or both. Automatic fire alarm systems can be used to notify people to evacuate in the event of a fire or other emergency, to summon emergency services, and to prepare the structure and associated systems to control the spread of fire and smoke.

It is a system, which detects fire early, wherein all loop devices in the system are individually addressed to provide the panel with absolute unique identification of each device. The system monitors any changes caused by dust or smoke and then adjusts the calibration accordingly to maintain each sensor at its original sensitivity. The system carries out a self-test automatically every 24 hours, as well as separate adjustment for day and night. The system can be integrated along with building management system, CCTV and Access Control systems ensuring total safety and security at one central monitoring station.

Made from premium quality components, this system's importance lies in the fact that it has high efficiency to extinguish fire by reducing the oxygen content of the protected area below the point where it can support combustion. It provides a blanket of heavy gas that reduces the oxygen content of the atmosphere to a point where combustion is not sustainable It provides its own pressure for discharging through Valves, Pipework and Nozzles.

A special fixed pipe system connected to a reliable source of fire protection water supply and equipped with water spray nozzles for specific water discharge and distribution over the surface or area to be protected. The piping system is connected to the water supply through an automatically actuated Deluge Valve which initiates flow of water. Automatic actuation is achieved by operation of automatic detecting equipment installed along with water spray nozzles. There are two types of systems namely High Velocity Water Spray System and Medium Velocity Water Spray System.

Consultation with the Fire Services Department is strongly recommended in the design stage ofany system. Particular attention to be placed on compatibility of various foam compounds, and integration of Fire Services equipment into the system.A comprehensive ongoing training programme is necessary if the system is intended to bebrought into use by employees.
